What is a Scavenger Hunt
A scavenger hunt is a game where players search for a list of specific items or complete certain tasks. In this case, the items you’ll be searching for are fall-themed. You can do the fall outdoor scavenger hunt for kids while on a nature walk, at the local park, or in your backyard.
The goal is to find everything on the list of items before time runs out or before other players do. The list includes objects you must collect, like a red leaf, yellow leaf, or pine cone; other times, it might have tasks like taking a picture of something.
What Makes this Fall Outdoor Scavenger Hunt a Good Activity
An outdoor scavenger hunt is a great activity because it gets everyone outdoors and moving instead of being bored at home. There’s lots of physical activity involved, like walking and running, which is perfect for kids who have a lot of energy to burn out. It also improves their fine motor skills when they pick up small objects, especially for younger kids. Lastly, when kids work in teams, they learn the value of teamwork by helping each other find things.
A scavenger hunt is also a fun way to spend time with friends or family while looking for these items. But the best part is that kids of all ages can play this. So if you have younger and older kids, they can have fun while doing something together.
Not only that, but any no-prep activities are always a plus with younger children. With this free fall scavenger hunt, all you need to do is click the link to the PDF file, print it, and your kids will be ready to have a wonderful time.

The supplies you need for the fall outdoor scavenger hunt aren’t much. Here is what you’ll need to do this activity:
- The fall outdoor scavenger hunt, which I have provided down below.
- Pens or pencils.
- Optional dry-erase markers.
- Optional dry-erase pocket sleeves. (these are great if you don’t want to laminate these)
- Optional laminating machine.
Of course, you’ll need a way to print the scavenger hunt. If you don’t have a printer at home, go to your local print shop and do it there.
You can also laminate these yourself at home if you have that option. The best part of doing that is that you’ll be able to reuse the scavenger hunt often.
If you plan to do that, make sure you get the dry-erase markers for it. You can grab some here. You can also hole-punch the laminated printable and add it to a binder with other activities! Doing that makes it easier to have all those fun fall activities or any activity for that matter ready for use.
