Have you done things you love lately? If not you let’s change that. Here I’ll be sharing easy self care ideas anyone can do.
Often times we are busy helping others or busy focusing on other things that we forget to put ourselves first. While it isn’t a bad thing I do believe sometimes we just forget to do the things that bring us joy.
If we don’t make time for ourselves who will?
If you’re finding that you’re always down and just not feeling like yourself you probably need some time to recharge. Make sure to prioritize the things that make you happy and soon enough you’ll feel like your old self if not even better.
Self care isn’t about being selfish. You have to focus on yourself if you want to help others. After all you can’t pour from an empty cup.
Easy Self Care Ideas
Let’s get to it. Here some ideas you can do everyday to improve your life. In no particular order.
These are just some ideas I like. If these don’t seem fun or exciting to you find something you enjoy doing.
Things That Don’t Cost Anything
- Getting 10-15 of quiet time. Having a couple of minutes of silence just to reflect on what’s going on is just magical.
- Taking a shower or a bubble bath. Personally I love showers, but anything that will get me ready for the day makes me more productive.
- Getting ready for the day. This is somewhat similar to the above, so anything like doing your hair or make up. Maybe get all dressed up. Put your favorite outfit on.
- Saying NO to things. Heck yeah. After all if you don’t want something why say yes to it?
- Eating a healthy meal.
- Listening to your favorite songs. Just put your favorite playlist on.
- Rearranging your furniture. This is a fun one. If you can make your home look like new by just changing some things why not?
- Having clean bedding. Umm heck yeah. What’s better than sleeping on clean sheets?
- Decluttering your home. I always say there’s no reason to have things you don’t use. If it’s been 3 months and you haven’t used it it’s probably time to say goodbye to it.
- Watching your favorite shows.
- Unfollowing people on social media that don’t make you feel good. This a must. There’s no reason to follow people who make you feel crappy about yourself.
- Sleep in or take a nap. Need I say more?
- Take a break from social media. Especially in this day and age make sure to have some days when you just put the phone down.
Ideas That Cost a Bit
- Buying flowers/plants. Put some new plants on your kitchen counter or on the kitchen table. That always makes me happy.
- Doing your nails. Even if that means at home or at a nail salon.
- Going shopping for new clothes. Oh this is a fun one. Who doesn’t love new clothes? Even if you don’t buy anything just window shopping makes me happy.
- Getting a haircut.
- Going to the movies. Go watch a movie you’ve been wanting to see and grab some popcorn while you’re at it.
Ideas to do Outside
- Going for walks. Just being outside for 10-15 minutes does wonders. Any time I’m feeling a bit off I go outside and I swear it gets me in a better mood.
- Going on a bike ride. Do it with your fiends or have your family with you.
- Getting a workout in. Move your body and get those endorphins kicking.
- Journaling. Jot down your feelings. Find yourself a good spot outside and just write what comes to mind.
- Reading a self help book. These types of books just hype me up. Find one you like and read it.
- Drink your coffee or tea outside.
- Go to the beach and hear the waves crash. You would catch me at the beach if I lived closer. Make sure to bring your sweater.
Final Thoughts
Self care isn’t a selfish thing to do. You need to do the things that make you happy in order to be there for others. Take the time to incorporate them in your day.
