Here I’ll be sharing all things motherhood you should know about. I don’t think anyone fully prepares you for what’s to come after you become a mother.
I remember being told I’d be sleep deprived and that I believed. After all you’re raising a little human.
But if I am being truthfully honest besides that and what I saw on tv I really had no clue what was to come. There are a lot of things that change.
Some days you wonder if you have this whole motherhood thing down and other times you feel like you’re winning.
There are many ups and just as many downs. It’s not easy, however it so damn rewarding.
What Nobody Tells You About Motherhood
- Some things won’t go as planned. Maybe your child just had an accident or they are starting to feel a little under the weather. So therefore things had to change.
- You’ll feel overwhelmed with the amount of things that need to get done. The chores can wait. Pick and choose what you want to get done. You won’t get to everything. Just saying.
- The emotional roller coaster is real! One moment you’re fine and then the next you’re feeling guilty for saying no to your little one.
- You’ll find yourself worrying about things you never thought about. I think it’s due to the fact that now you have someone you have to care for. You want what is best for your child.
- Phantom cries are a real thing. Yes you will hear your little one cry when in fact they are not. Every time I took a shower I swear I heard my son cry.
- You’ll be the default parent. I wish it wasn’t like that, but yeah I am and you’ll probably be that too.
- You won’t have any days off. Even when you’re sick you are still taking care of your child.
- Your patience will be tested. The amount of times I’ve had to walk away just to calm down is insane.
- You’ll quickly find out that if your little one is quiet it probably means they’re up to no good. Do I really need to say much? If your child is quiet make sure they aren’t doing something they shouldn’t be.
- When your little one is sick you probably won’t get any sleep.
- Noisy toys won’t be something you’ll like. Oh yeah this one just downright sucks.
- Your child will remember everything you said even that promise you said you’d do. Yes they totally will.
Final Thoughts
Being a mother isn’t an easy thing. It’s all trial and error. We are all doing our best to raise loving and caring human beings. Don’t be too hard on yourself. You are doing a damn good job raising your little one.
Do me a huge favor and share this with your soon to be mommy friends.
